BURNABY, BC – The Association of Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of BC (NNPBC), BC’s professional association representing all four nursing designations (LPN, NP, RN, RPN), is proud to recognize and celebrate this year’s winners of the NNPBC ‘Proud to Be’ Contest.
The ‘Proud to Be’ Contest invited BC nurses and nursing students to share their pride for the nursing profession through any creative medium of their choice. This year NNPBC was pleased to receive entries from nurses across the province, describing why they are ‘proud to be a nurse’ or ‘proud to be entering the nursing profession’ via creative formats such as paintings, short essays, comic strips, photo collages, and more. Three winning entries were selected by an NNPBC adjudication committee.
“We were pleased to receive a record number of entries to the ‘Proud to Be’ Contest this year and to see such amazing, creative, and original demonstrations of nursing pride from across the province. NNPBC is honoured to recognize this year’s contest winners, and all contest participants, for their passion and pride in their profession,” says Alix Arndt, NNPBC Acting Chief Executive Officer.
The ‘Proud to Be’ 2023 winners are:
- First Place: Kathy Le, RN
- Second Place: Mana Hekmat, RN
- Third Place: Jenny Landis, Psychiatric Nursing Diploma student
The winning entries as well as all other submissions will be featured on the NNPBC website starting May 8, 2023, in celebration of National Nursing Week.
