Professional Liability Protection for nurses and NPs
Professional Liability Protection (PLP) safeguards nurses and nurse practitioners if a claim or complaint is made about their professional practice. This protection is required by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives and provided through the Canadian Nurses Protective Society.
Members of Nurses and Nurse Practitioners of BC, the professional association for nursing, can access a group rate on PLP. It’s one of the many benefits of membership, along with advocacy, professional development supports and resources for your practice.
How to obtain your PLP
As part of recent changes, PLP is no longer included in the licensing process with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. It’s now purchased directly from the Canadian Nurses Protective Society, with a group rate available to NNPBC members.
