NNPBC stands with Black, Indigenous and People of Colour against racism, violence and hate. Equality should not be a privilege for some, it should be a right for all.
We all have a responsibility to do more when it comes to combatting racism and working to implement the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Inquiry (MMIWG) and the In Plain Sight report. We were saddened and dismayed by the discovery of 215 children buried in an unmarked grave at the former Kamloops Residential School. We know this is not an isolated incident. This discovery underscores the depth to which the pain and trauma of racism and colonization has impacted and continues to impact Indigenous people today.
